Happy 2015! Let's start the new year off right, with some bloody killing.

Scuzzball first met Michael of the Love People here, and their conversation continued here, leading up to today's brutal beat-down.

If you only read today's comic, Scuzzball looks pretty ruthless, but you have to keep in mind that Michael just murdered three of Scuzzball's friends, for no particular reason, and was about to murder Scuzzball.

Michael of the Love People was created by D.F. French, back when we were teenagers and we drew lots of comics with surreal characters, nonsensical plots, and anti-climactic endings. Michael of the Love People is the sort of cute, wacky serial killer you come up with when you're young.

Now I'm much older, and at some point when I was drawing this story--around panel 7, I think--I started to see Michael as a symbol of nihilism. So, in this episode, Scuzzball clutched tight the idea that life has meaning, and took a stand against nihilism. As this new year begins, I hope we can all follow his example.
